Reading for Sunday

"IT TAKES THREE"
1 Peter 5:5-7
This week is session 5 of the iMarriage lessons.  The lesson this week is based on 1 Peter 5:5-7.

To help prepare for the lesson please read, study and pray about this passage. Think about humility and pride and how they relate to i and I.  Think about how  humility and pride affect our relationships with God and our spouse. How does a humble or proud attitude affect God's willingness to help us? How does all this tie into i or I in a marriage?

Have a great week!
Mike

Hey Everyone,

I mentioned a couple of Sundays ago about the two main viewpoints of "headship" as represented in the New Testament. There are basically two main viewpoints: egalitarian and complementarian. You can download an entire book on this subject from the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood. Here is a link to the book and each of its chapters. It is not necessary to read the whole book to get a good idea of complementarity - you can read Piper's chapter on that one along with the Preface. There are some other great chapters in this large book as well. I hope some of us have time to take a look at this as time goes on. I think you will really enjoy it.

On the main website, www.cbmw.org, you can also download journal articles, read their blog, and download audio messages and podcasts of some of these speakers.
